Well, I see that dog got hold of the mouse and laptop....she's way too smart for me. But tonight she's more interested in chewing on stuffies. And as you can see from the picture, on cardboard boxes. The box says Rice Krispies but she just cares about the cardboard. Plus there are no RK's in there...just the infamous "Barb & Gene's Traveling Jar"....but that's another story. Let's just say that Gene and his sister have a history with an ugly old jar that keeps appearing in their lives in many places and they keep trying to outdo each other. The box recently appeared in Gene's life again and it is in my studio on the floor where it was supposed to be safe from puppy teeth...that's because she started working on it when it was in the living room. How she got into my studio is another story. But it is now safely behind a barrier that she can't get thru (I hope). Well, to tell the truth it's on top of the ironing board...for now she's too small to figure that out. (What? Don't we all store things on the ironing board? Ironing? What's that?)
We've had nearly two inches of rain since yesterday and lots of thunder and lightning. Levi barks at the thunder (even though he grew up in Seattle, we didn't get a lot of thunder there with all the rain, so he barks at the noise.) I worried how Michele would react to the noise but she didn't seem to be scared, or even concerned when it was rumbling thru. Which is a good thing! Tonight she slept thru most of it. Good thing too as I hate thunder and lightning but don't want to transfer my fear of it to her.
Tomorrow we head back to work. She stayed home with the boys today and everyone who came into my office had to ask "Where's the puppy?"....I already know who the popular one is in my work world. It's ok though as she is a darling and brings joy to people already who come to the church. Can't wait to be able to take her to services when she is older. Reily (our first CCI pup) used to go with me and even went forward for communion and always behaved. It was neat to see how people reacted to her....from the kids to the very old folks. There is one lady especially who just loved Reily and Ojai and can't wait to see the new girls in the pews. Brings tears to my eyes when I see how these little puppies can bring happiness to others.
Someone asked me the other day if I thought Michele will make it thru Advanced Training.....my plan this time around is to not even think about it. Just take it as it goes and train her and not dwell on it. Time will tell. I know she's a smart little thing....already knows "sit" and "down" (most of the time) and walks nicely on a loose leash (most of the time) and is pretty good at "release".
Oh dear, she's gone off somewhere...better go find her. Never mind...she's with Gene, who/whom she adores!
