Raising Michele and Now Cheyenne : Two Weeks Have Gone By

Two weeks, 4 days - since Michele headed out the door to her new kennel and friends. And no, she did not look back at us. Well, at me since Gene had already left the room. It was so hard to leave her but she really didn't want to be hugged and kept behind the others that were heading on to Advanced Training. Can't say that I blame her. Thank heavens for sunglasses so everyone could cover their eyes and not see everyone else crying!! She did very well on the trip out....slept most of the time in the back seat...."hurried" when told and ate her food. Of course when she met her BFF Nadie in Kingman the first night it was the usual craziness with those two. They did not end up being roommates at college but Nadie has one of Michele's sisters as her roommate. We didn't get to meet Michele's roomie, Prodigy, as we (I) were (was) one of the last to turn in their pup. The matriculation/graduation ceremony was long but very nice. There were 12 graduates I think and several speakers. Watching the puppy raisers turning over the leashes of their pups to the graduates is so moving. We hope and pray that we'll get to do that for Michele in August. What a birthday present that would be for me and anniversary present for Gene and me.

So now we are puppy-less but of course, Levi the Magnificent is with us so that helps the quiet not be so quiet. I think he misses her but he's also glad to be getting all the attention. He'll welcome her home if she is released as we will. For now we spoil him as he is used to....he'll be 14 on April 15th and doing good for an old guy. Doesn't hear much but otherwise still doing the terrier thing.

This blog will go quiet for awhile. Will report back when we get her first month training report.
