Loving the Snow

Gene and the girls doing the "lap" command
It's snowing here in northeastern New Mexico and our girl loves it....actually it's, I think, the 3rd snowstorm we've had this fall and she loves it all. Most of the time the snow is gone in a day or two and we're back to dirt and mud in the back yard along with the sand burrs, but this time it's been very cold and the snow has stayed. We had about 9 inches on Thursday and the vast majority of it is still out there. I'm about ready for spring. But the princess loves to run and run and run in it and she and Nadie had a great time over the Thanksgiving weekend playing out there. Yes, Nadie stayed with us for a week and it was the usual run, run run, drink water, run run run, pee, run run run, drop and sleep, get up and run and pee and drink.....well, you get the idea. I took one of them to work with me each day so Gene only had one to take care of (besides Levi the Magnificent). Worked out well. We took them to the spa on Wednesday so they would not be underfoot during the Thanksgiving party. Picked them up on Friday and they slept all the way home in the back seat of my car. I think they fell asleep before we even left Santa Fe. This Friday-Sunday, Michele went to Nadie's house while Gene and I went with some friends to dinner and a concert on Friday night in Santa Fe. Picked her up this afternoon after church and she has slept most of the time since we got home....with a couple of trips out to run in the snow and do her potty-ing. We leave on Thursday for a trip to Salt Lake City to hear/see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert so both Michele and Levi will be going to Nadie's to stay until Saturday. So nice to be able to leave them with friends. Levi tries to keep up with the long-legged girls but he can't! So he usually ends up sleeping on the couch and getting out of their way.
Only two months to go until turn-in. It's on Feb 14th...what a Valentine's Day!  just hard to believe that the next bag of dog food we buy for Ms M will be the last before she leaves us and there really isn't a good reason to buy her new toys either. Trying not to think about it. The time, which seemed to stretch so far into the future when we got the girls on August 3, 2012, is coming to an end and the Advanced Training time is coming too quickly.
Not much other news  - she is a wonderful puppy and just a beauty. I have no idea if she'll make it to graduation - but we are doing the best we can with her and it's her choice to make. She and Nadie are great dogs...we didn't see differences in them when we got them at 8 weeks but now we do. Nadie is about 10 lbs heavier and a little taller than Michele but when they are running around in the snow....it's still hard to tell them apart. Blurs of gold passing your eyes!
Will try to keep this blog up to date thru turn-in.....always my resolution....
