9 Months Old

Michele and Levi
The Welcoming Committee
Time passes so quickly....our "little" girl was 9 months old this past Saturday.....sometime it seems like we just got her and now we're on the downhill side to turn-in. Feb 2014 is her date to return to California. But I'll think about that later. Right now we are working on commands....finally have gotten her to get in and out of the car fairly easily. She still has some challenges jumping out of the back seat but if i put her into my SUV from the back door she goes right in. It's the passenger seats she has trouble with...they are sort of high. But we're getting there. No problem whatsoever if her buddy, Nadie, is along. Where one goes, there goes the other.

Michele weighs 46.2 lbs now...she's about 21 inches at the withers so she's a little thing...well, long legs but not very heavy. Nadie is about 57 pounds...didn't realize till today how different they are. Their energy is about the same, though.......go go go.....and then collapse and drink water and go go go again. Was going to have Nadie out for play date this weekend but on Saturday the back yard was muddy and Sunday it was too cold and snowy. So today i took Ms M to work with me and Judy came and picked her up around 11:30 to take home with her. I went and got her after work and both she and Nadie were tired girls! She's been very quiet since we got home...it's only 7;30 or so and she's already climbed into her kennel. It's a good thing.

We've been on a few excursions....Tractor Supply store, church, post office, Walgreen's, etc. She's learning that if she behaves and puts her cape and Gentle Leader on, she can go along.

Michele is a gorgeous girl and very sweet. A little barky still at times...but we know if she barks very sharply and loud and stands by the back door, she has to GO - NOW!!

She's a funny girl....last weekend we heard her drinking water and then heard the strangest noise coming from the water dish....she was blowing bubbles into it.....not sure what started it, but there seemed to be something in the water or on the bottom of the dish and her nose went all the way in and she blew bubbles....hard to explain, but that's what it looked like and sounded like.  We tried not to laugh but it was funny. Kept her busy for about 5 minutes and she did it several times that day.....silly girl. Wish I could have captured it on a video but I didn't want to get too close and interrupt her...she does keep us entertained. She's really Gene's girl...loves him!!  Likes Mom but LOVES Dad....they will miss each other a lot when she goes off to college. No sign yet of her having to go off to the convent but that is coming, I'm sure. She'll get to spend 21 days in Santa Fe....not a bad place to be. Another puppy class coming up in Albuquerque on the 22nd...she and Nadie play all the way there so they are a little tired out by the time class starts. It's a good thing.

  1. Hi Linda,
I love hearing how Michele's training is progressing and how much fun she is having. Michele's mom Fifi blew bubbles into water just a couple of times - it's a hoot! So sweet that Michele is a daddy's girl.

    Is Michele's tail still bent?
    take care,
    Lisa and Fifi

  2. Hi Lisa - yes her tail is still bent but as she's gotten older and furrier it is less noticeable...doesn't bother her at all and wags just as happily as all the others. She's a happy pup. Her half-sister, Tanya V, is coming to ABQ to wonderful parents, Karen and Mike. They will do a fabulous job with her. Good to hear from you.
